We cannot thank Jill and Paul enough for the fabulous retreat they have created in Starcombe cabin. The cabin itself is tucked away in the countryside away from the tourist hustle and bustle. The bed was sumptuous, the bathroom luxurious, and the lounge peaceful and cozy. The kitchen was so well equipped, and we really appreciated the full size fridge / freezer. We stayed at the cabin for nearly 2 weeks as we explored the SW Coastal Path, East Devon Way and various other tucked away gems with our dog. Don't miss visiting the Beer Quarry Caves (dog friendly!) and walking up the newly rewilded Otter Estuary at Budleigh Salterton. Paul and Jill were so gracious as to share with us some of their homemade jam, marmalade and apple juice too, such a treat. Thank you!

Starcombe Barn is beautiful, quiet place, up a very steep narrow lane. Which is on the side of a hill which gives it a lovely view, across the hills towards Sidmouth. Which you can sit and take it in outside the barn. The barn itself is a one bedroom accommodation which is peacefully decorated, well equipped, with all you need or just an ask away.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would come back again, highly recommend it.

Stunning peaceful location with great views of the surrounding hills. Cabin was very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Well located for exploring East Devon resorts and countryside.

As a Kiwi, I was expecting something fairly basic when I heard the word 'cabin' but I was pleasantly surprised at the luxury of our accommodation. We came with family, so my son and family had the large bathroom and bedroom while my husband and I had the en-suite bedroom. Plenty of room for us all. Everything was beautifully appointed, well equipped modern kitchen, modern sparkling bathrooms, and comfortable living area. But most striking of all about the place was the peace. I would never have believed that in a country as highly populated as England, we'd find somewhere where bird song would dominate and no sound of roaring traffic in the background. Just the most wonderfully picturesque English countryside in every direction. Stunning, and a place where you can recharge the batteries.

The accommodation was first class - every detail thought of to make it a truly wonderful stay. Starcombe is a jewel set in the most beautiful spot in the Devonshire countryside! Very hard to leave!

Our stay was fabulous. We were able to stay outside late into the evenings, watching the moon rise and the stars come out, sipping drinks and eating al fresco.
